Update - Marie Poisson's Marie Bodysuit in the basics collection at La Plage editions.

The Bodysuit... a garment on the border of lingerie. The bodysuit is an ultra-feminine piece that can be worn during the day with a pretty skirt or under jeans or in the evening when it becomes more glamorous with lace. Marie Poisson guides us in making a bodysuit offered in 2 variations:

The panties (shorty and high-cut) can be swapped on both models, you just need to make the modification proposed by Marie at the waistline. The sleeves of the Lizaig model are also offered in different lengths.
On the other hand, Marie offers us customizations by playing with the fabrics used (velvet, lycra, jersey...), with fancy elastics or by applying lace.

My version of the Lizaig

This pattern and these explanations were a real favorite for me who had never sewn a lingerie piece. The basics of lingerie techniques: elasticated panties, elastic bias tape, and laminette... will hold no secrets for you after making this iconic piece of the female wardrobe.

Thus Marie guides us in:

The instructions are clear and the assembly steps are detailed using simple diagrams.
The large pattern sheet on good quality paper is clear. It is very easy to spot the pieces and cherry on the cake... the seam allowances are included. This saves a bit of time on tracing but also ensures the correct allowance measurements adapted for sewing elastics.

Finally, Marie gives us the gift of offering this pattern from size 34 to size 52! It is rare to find patterns graded beyond size 44. If your bust measurement is between 79 and 124cm, your waist measurement between 59 and 103cm, and your hip measurement between 81 and 124cm, go for it and discover the pleasure of sewing this basic!

To date, I have made two pieces:
- lizaig pattern 3/4 sleeve in navy blue jersey with seahorse design, with visible bias tape
The jersey comes from Tissus.net and the bias tape as well as the snaps from Veritas.
- lizaig pattern 3/4 sleeve in plum velvet with hidden bias tape.
The velvet comes from Rascol, the bias tape from Veritas.

I am preparing a third and a fourth version because I am really a fan of the silhouette that wearing a bodysuit provides ;-)
The third version will be in jungle-inspired jersey from Veritas (it's a fabric scrap I had used for a sweatshirt), still in the lizaig pattern but in short sleeve version (because I didn't have a very large fabric scrap; I had to make a choice).

The fourth version will be in tawny velvet purchased from atelier Moondust, it will still be the lizaig pattern with long sleeves.
