After sewing two versions of Sanaz by Coralie Bijasson, I really wanted to sew some warm little sweaters to make coordinated outfits.
So I started looking for a quick and effective sweater to sew... it didn’t take me long to decide because I had already put it on my sewing pile (PAC) 😂
Of course, it’s the Inès sweater from the brand Cha Coud!
I have to say this pattern is really simple and quick to sew! Plus with its well-covering neckline, it’s perfect for winter!
So I’ll take you on a tour of my three versions of Inès!
Let’s go!
The model
Inès is a pattern from the new collection designed by Charlotte, the creator of the brand Cha coud patterns.
It’s a sweater to sew in knit fabric. It features a high collar and short, dropped sleeves.
The bottom of the sweater and sleeves are decorated with seams.
Inès is simple and quick to make, it’s the perfect opportunity to start sewing knits whether with a serger or a sewing machine!
Practical information for sewing this pattern
Inès is available from size 34 to 52 in printed and PDF versions on our website and in store.
The PDF version is available in A0 and A4 depending on your printing preferences.
To choose your size, prioritize the bust measurement.
To help you choose your size, here is the summary chart.

In the seamstress's basket
Inès must absolutely be sewn in knit fabric, meaning a stretch fabric.
Many types of knit can be used like a thin or thick sweatshirt, French terry, twisted sweatshirt, a honeycomb knit, a ribbed knit, a jacquard knit, a stretch fleece, a teddy, a faux fur knit …
To make your Inès sweater you won't need much material, just:
- Fabrics
1.20m of knit by 1.40m width; 1.30m for sizes 42 and up
- Fusible straight grain for jersey if your fabric is very soft or slippery
- matching thread (for sewing machine or cones for serger)
Technical points
Inès is really very easy to make and is suitable for sewing beginners who want to try knit fabrics.
The technical points are:
- making the stand-up collar (especially with the serger, you have to take the turn carefully ☺️)
- attaching the bottom of the sweater and the sleeves
The rest is really super simple!
My supplies
I made 3 versions of Inès:
- One in fleece (available in other colors in the Ixelles shop)
- One in orange teddy/fleece (available in the Woluwe shop)
- One in faux fur (personal stash but other faux furs are available in Ixelles)
All three versions were made in size 34 without modifications for my two fleece versions. For the faux fur version, I tried lengthening by 5cm for a more covering fit over the pants.
I made two Inès sweaters in one afternoon and the last one in about 1h30... when I say it’s a simple and quick project 😁!
My sewing experience
I really enjoyed sewing this great project, easy, quick, and stress-free!
The instructions are simple, the pattern well cut... What more could you ask for!
