My chic and timeless wardrobe by Pauline Alice from Mango editions.

The brand Pauline Alice invites us to create "16 sewing models for the whole year in 8 unique outfits." Pauline and Alice organize the models around the 4 seasons by offering us 2 complete outfits per quarter available from size 34 to 44.

The first thing that catches the eye when discovering this book is its very beautiful presentation with its hardback cover enhanced with gold, illustrating the models to create including 4 accessories: a printed, an obi belt, a collar, and a turban. The quality of the paper and the presentation make this book alone a lovely item to display in your library.
It is easy to navigate the book because each model is identified by a color found on the spine of the book.
While the cover mentions chic and timeless models, I would reclassify them as "modernized retro." Indeed, each model bears the name of famous or even iconic characters from the 60s to 80s, from Marilyn Monroe to Audrey Hepburn, including Hitchcock’s muse and animal rights activist Tippi Hedren. Thus, we find:

TippiAudreyFrançoise

Some models are more intended for special occasions (Audrey dress) while others are more classic and wearable on all occasions (Tippi skirt and blouse).
Pauline and Alice recommend the type of fabric to preferably use for the different models, which is appreciated to obtain a nice drape of the garments.
A good part of the models highlight necklines, bustiers, and bare backs. If you do not feel comfortable with this type of garment, I do not recommend this book. However, if you like fitted clothes, pretty necklines, or retro clothes updated for today… go for it, this book is made for you.

While the author indicates that the patterns can be used by a brave and motivated beginner, I have some reservations unless this same beginner is accompanied by a teacher. Indeed, the assembly of boning with interfacing or the assembly of a bustier jumpsuit with darts to connect seems more suitable for an intermediate or even advanced level person at the risk of seeing the self-taught beginner become discouraged by a result that might not meet their expectations.
On the other hand, the accessories are quite suitable for a beginner level and can be a good start for the beginner in sewing who would like to buy this book.

The assembly instructions are well illustrated with photos of the different steps to be carried out. A technical booklet accompanies the assembly instructions: making a hem, making a dart…
The pattern sheets are of good paper quality, allowing handling the sheet without fear of tearing or piercing it. The 2 sheets are double-sided. The models are identified by a color; it is a pity that the color code is not the same as that used on the book spines; nevertheless, this does not hinder reading the sheets in any way. It is easy to find the different pattern pieces on the sheets; the sizes are well identified by a pattern of symbols. Seam allowances are not included; these must be added according to the instructions found on the presentation page of each model. The explanations are clear and a cutting plan for each model is offered. One might regret the absence of adjustment lines for shorter or taller people. The announced sizes from 34 to 44 are intended for bust measurements between 80 and 100 cm, waist measurements between 62 and 82 cm, and hip measurements between 86 and 106 cm.
