100,000 Subscribers Contest: Join and Win!

It's crazy... we have surpassed 100,000 followers on social media!!!

This week, it's the 282nd blog article and we just passed the milestone of 200 newsletters sent each week... really, this calls for a celebration!

So what better than a contest to thank you for your support and loyalty to our haberdashery and to our sewing, embroidery, crochet, and knitting courses...

We are delighted to have been able to bring together a caring community where encouragement, perseverance, and the desire to do well are abundant. I am delighted with the atmosphere of the workshops where we learn while having fun. If someone had told me it would be this good, I don't think I would have believed it, yet here we are!

We really want a contest that would highlight our community and bring some fun to this celebration... you are surely wondering what we have prepared for you... and you are absolutely right 😂!

Before moving on to the contest, a little flashback for those who have just discovered C'est du Joly or who don't know the whole story... and for those who know, see you in the next paragraph.

Little Flashback

It all started in April 2019. I created the blog couture conseil on which you are currently and you are actually reading the 281st article.

At first, I kept the blog to share my passion for sewing while working in a hospital environment. C'est du Joly did not exist yet and you could follow my adventures on the Facebook page coutureconseil. By the way, the blog kept the name which I still find very relevant. This blog contains lots of information about fabrics, patterns, materials, tutorials... in short, I am very happy with this compilation of articles. Feel free to take a look after reading this article 😉

In March 2020, the whole world faced covid. My professional life was completely turned upside down. With my partner, we launched the site C'est du Joly for the creation of masks under the impulse of the municipality, which was looking for citizen initiatives for mask distribution. During the day, I worked at the hospital, in the evening I sewed masks and delivered them on foot within the municipality before the curfew.

August 2020: I order Japanese fabric (4 rolls of 6m) because Japan is also one of my passions and their finely woven poplins are perfect for masks and they are so beautiful!

November 2020: We order more Japanese fabrics and the haberdashery arrives to complete the offer because you ask me for materials to create bags.

April 2021: I resign to devote myself only to C'est du Joly and its development. We decide to rename our Facebook page which is still "coutureconseil" to "C'est du Joly"

July 2021: A commercial space frees up near my home and we really need space.

May 2022: After quite a bit of work, we open the physical shop and start the courses! Céline joins the team for sales on Saturdays while I give sewing courses. It's really great to meet customers "in person" at the shop and to give courses in a friendly, caring atmosphere... we feel good!

End of 2022, we expand the offer with products for knitting, embroidery, and crochet. Céline gives crochet courses and I give embroidery courses 😊.

May 2023: I work a lot and I can't manage alone anymore... Marie-Hélène joins our sales team, gives knitting courses and comes to strengthen the offer of sewing courses.

July 2023: We start the adventure "Jolys coupons": coupons of 3m at a very interesting price. All the fabrics offered are end-of-stock bought in larger quantities and cut by us into coupons of 3m.

September 2023: The yarn arrives at C'est du Joly and we chose beautiful quality from Rowan and DMC!  And we reach without really realizing it 100,000 followers on Facebook 🤪.

The contest

For this contest, we really wanted to highlight our beautiful community and spoil you.
We decided to make 2 categories to play:

First category: my most beautiful sewing projects in fabrics are from Joly.

Post a photo or photos of clothing or accessories made from fabrics from our shop. The sewing project does not necessarily have to be sewn for the contest; you can publish a previous creation. The goal is to share 😊

Second category: my best creation at the c'est du Joly workshop; the one I am most proud of

More and more of you come to the workshop to take sewing courses but also knitting, crochet, and embroidery, so I wanted to honor you. Whether you made a kimono, a satchel, a free project in the workshop, jeans... in short, post your favorite cousettes sewn at the workshop

The prizes at stake

For the first category:

First prize: a surprise box of supplies worth 150€

Second prize: a surprise box of 70€

Third prize: a coupon of 3m

For the second category:

First prize: a 75€ gift voucher valid for your next courses

Second prize: a place in the course: I discover fabrics

Participation conditions:

To facilitate participation and photo uploads, the contest will take place on Instagram 😊

1. Be subscribed to the Instagram account cestdujoly.be, like the contest post, and invite 2 people to participate in the comments

2. Post before November 15, the photo(s) of your participation mentioning our page (@cestdujoly.be) and indicating the #fierencestdujoly

3. For category 2, having been registered for a workshop (and yes, that is the principle of this category)

4. Have fun participating because that is the most important!

Contest reserved for Belgium, mainland France, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Portugal, Italy, Spain, Germany, and Austria.

Selection of winners

The winner will be chosen by our jury composed of Marie-Hélène, Céline, and myself.

We will check if the participation conditions are met cf. above and will choose the best creation among the eligible posts. The three of us are ready to discover your beautiful cousettes as jury members... with only one regret, that we cannot participate 😂!

Good work to everyone!
