PDF - digital pattern for the Myrtil smock by Laeti and Léa from size 34 to 50
Myrtil is a loose blouse pattern. Its crossed drape and small rounded collar give it a style inspired by the 1980s.
Wear it open to reveal a pretty bustier, camisole, or body suit. You can also use a snap fastener or sew a stitch to close the crossover to tone down the neckline.
You can choose between:
- A straight back or a shirttail back to cover your lower back.
- Different sleeve lengths: short sleeves, long sleeves with elastic edging, or with cuffs
Play with the different options to adapt it to your desires, the seasons, or your sewing skill level.
The techniques you will use and learn to make with this pattern:
- English seam (for neat finishes when closing the sleeves and bodice).
- The handkerchief hem.
- Gathering.
- Creating a tear-resistant slit
- Finishing the collar and shirt cuffs can be done by machine or by hand.
Sewing level
Intermediate to advanced depending on the options chosen (3/5 to 4/5).
The technical points are the understanding and precision needed to assemble the collar and fronts and to create a sleeve cuff with a tear-resistant slit.
I support you with explanations and detailed assembly diagrams, as well as an assembly help video.
Size guide
This pattern is designed for a height of 1.65 m.
The most important measurements for this model are height and bust circumference.
If you are taller or shorter than the stated height, and the finished garment measurements do not fit you, you can make adjustments: you can shorten or lengthen the sleeve and/or the bodice as explained in the guide.
If you are between two sizes, choose the larger size.

Required materials
Fabric
Choose a medium-weight woven fabric, fluid and with a beautiful drape to highlight the drape of Myrtil. Fabrics that are too light will not show the drape as well. If your fabric wrinkles little, even better: viscose, viscose twill, viscose crepe, cotton viscose, linen viscose, silk, cotton silk, tencel…
Beware of crepe fabrics and double gauze which tend to distort, which can cause problems when assembling the collar that requires precision.
Attention! The values are given as a guide and may vary depending on the options you have chosen and your ability to arrange the pieces when cutting the fabric.
Small haberdashery
- Matching thread and needles appropriate for your fabric.
- Interfacing appropriate for your fabric* for the collar and cuffs (woven interfacing preferred).
- 1.5 cm wide elastic (option for long elasticated sleeve)
- Tear-resistant slit option - Matching bias tape to your fabric or made from a fabric scrap: 2 strips of 25 cm x 2.4 cm (ideally on the bias)
* Type and thickness to choose according to your fabric. A fabric interfaced with woven fusible will keep its natural feel and drape but with more body. A fabric interfaced with non-woven fusible will have a stiffer appearance.
