Your 20 favorite printed patterns in 2025: let's take stock

After sharing your top 20 favourite digital/PDF patterns, it was time to look at the 20 paper patterns you loved most in 2025.

Personally, sewing from a paper pattern or a PDF pattern no longer makes much difference to me; I adapt easily to both. But I know you don’t all feel the same way: some prefer paper, others digital.

Each to their own! It is also quite funny to see that you often choose very different patterns in PDF and paper format, even when both versions exist.

Can you guess which paper patterns were your favourites in 2025? I had already identified some of them because they are firm favourites with you, and often in the workshop too 😉. Others surprised me by making the top 20.

1. Alix dress by Cha Coud

No surprise here: Alix by Cha Coud was your favourite paper pattern of 2025. This design has everything going for it. I sewed my own version a few weeks ago, and we even decided to offer a workshop devoted to this dress: it really is a little gem, elegant and one I love wearing.

Alix is a beautiful long feminine dress, fitted at the bodice with a defined waist and a generous skirt. It looks like a wrap dress with a crossover neckline, while also featuring a high slit closed with a button placket at the side of the skirt—something a classic wrap construction cannot offer.

It is also easy to customise:
- remove the ruffles for bare shoulders;
- shorten it into a top or shorter dress;
- close the slit higher by simply adding a few buttons.

2. Rabat waistcoat by Ikatee

Again, I’m not surprised that Rabat won your hearts. This sleeveless waistcoat, with its many options, has been sewn again and again both in the workshop and by our customers. It is a real wardrobe staple, and the multiple options mean you can reuse the pattern many times: with or without pockets, button placket, ties and more.

Rabat is available in sizes 32 to 52. It is fully lined and comes with two lengths (waist or mid-hip), three closures (edge-to-edge, buttoned or double-breasted), three necklines (round, V or high), plus several fastening ideas including buttons, snaps, ties, toggles, loops, straps or zips. The long version can also include pockets, a belt and belt loops.

3. Violette blouse by Maison Fauve

Who am I to disagree with this choice 😂! Violette is a wardrobe basic for me—I think I own seven. I have sewn it in cotton poplin, double gauze and embroidered fabrics.

It is very comfortable, and I love the practical three-quarter sleeves for working in the shop. One of my favourite details is the piping across the back yoke, together with pretty buttons. It was one of Maison Fauve’s first designs and remains one of their bestsellers.

Violette has an inverted pleat at the back, a three-button placket, a fitted but not tight shape, bust darts and a modest round neckline. The back yoke can be highlighted with piping. The pattern runs from size 34 to 56.

4. Albane blouse and dress by Clématisse Pattern

If you want a truly on-trend design, go for Albane. My students have sewn many of them. The construction also teaches interesting techniques, especially the front button placket; the ruffles and cuffs are inventive and fun to make.

Albane stands out for its ruffled collar running along the button placket, its straight slightly fitted shape, gently puffed sleeves and crossed ruffles at the cuffs. A back yoke with delicate gathers adds softness and movement. Available in sizes 34 to 52.

5. Philippe trousers by Coralie Bijasson

We are so sad that Coralie stopped producing paper patterns, but very happy that she decided to keep selling her PDF patterns through our website. It would have been such a shame to lose these excellent designs.

Philippe is one of them: wear it by day or as pyjama trousers, in linen, Tencel, viscose or even flannel. It has become a comfortable wardrobe essential thanks to its elasticated waist. The wide flowing legs are easy to sew and wear, there is no zip, side pockets are included, and the intentionally long length suits different body shapes.

6. Sanaz trousers by Coralie Bijasson

Yes, another Coralie trouser pattern—I told you we love her designs! Sanaz was one of your favourites last year and one of ours in the workshop too. Marie, Céline and I have sewn several versions. It is both elegant and very comfortable.

Sanaz is a feminine culotte in midi or full length. A shaped waistband, western-style front seam, discreet slant pockets and an invisible side zip give it a refined look. Extra-wide legs structured by flat pleats create dramatic volume while keeping beautiful movement.

7. Carlos bag by Atelier Jumadi

Another design I have sewn myself and still love: the Carlos bag by Atelier Jumadi. I made mine in Japanese Inden, and I still find it beautiful and very pleasant to use.

Carlos is a generous tote designed for busy days: lots of room, an internal zipped pocket and three additional large pockets. A top zip keeps everything secure. Whether for work, shopping or a getaway, it combines practicality with style.

8. Salto top by Maison Fauve

Another design we have sewn a lot in the workshop, again from Maison Fauve. Salto is perfect for summer, with its beautiful cut-out straps. Sew it in one colour or contrast the straps. Marie and Céline have made versions in poplin, satin, Liberty and cotton lawn.

You can choose a button-front or plain-front version. The clean finish of the wide straps also lets you use openwork fabrics without visible facings. Salto is available in sizes 34 to 52.

9. Volata blouse by Maison Fauve

We stay with Maison Fauve, this time with the Volata blouse. Its clean line is softened by a delicate swallow-wing neckline at both front and back. The shape is relaxed, straight, elegant and comfortable. Chic in a solid fabric, the simple construction also lets prints shine.

10. Eudoxie blouse and dress by Coralie Bijasson

Back to Coralie with Eudoxie. It is super comfortable, with interesting gathers at the bust and centre back. I loved sewing it, especially the unusual yoke construction. With Coralie’s patterns I always learn something new.

Eudoxie can be sewn as a top or dress. The distinctive front and back yokes naturally form short or mid-length sleeves. A button placket runs over the shoulder and arm, delicate gathers add volume, and the shirt-tail hem gives it an effortless chic look. The dress version includes discreet side-seam pockets.

11. Rosalie dress by Maison Fauve

Rosalie is a very feminine dress and is on my wish list. Its plunging V-neck is designed to flatter the bust without revealing too much, the shape is fitted without being tight, and the skirt slit adds ease and movement. The sleeves can be finished with either a wide tie or buttoned cuffs.

The pattern also includes a little bustier-style top that is perfect for summer. Rosalie comes in sizes 34 to 52. Find Rosalie here and all Maison Fauve patterns here.

12. Voyage travel bag and pouch by Ikatee

Voyage by Ikatee is not just one pattern but a whole set: travel bag, yoga bag, nursery bag, shoulder bag, handbag and wash bag. It is fully lined, with clever internal storage, outer pockets, a wide zipped opening, a side handle on the pouch and two handle lengths for carrying by hand or over the shoulder. An adjustable removable strap is optional.

Size S works as a shoulder bag, nursery bag or handbag. Size M holds clothes and toiletries for an overnight stay and can also carry documents or a laptop up to 15 inches. Size L is ideal for a weekend away, shopping or sport. The rectangular pouch is roomy enough for toiletries.

13. Budapest pyjamas by Ikatee

Another Ikatee pattern in the top 20—and on my wish list too 😂. Who wouldn’t want a lovely pair of pyjamas? There are plenty of options for both summer and winter, and Budapest comes in children’s and women’s versions for matching looks.

The women’s version runs from size 32 to 52; size 32 corresponds to age 14 and 34 to age 16. The children’s pattern runs from age 3 to 12.

Budapest includes a short loose-fitting top with a notched collar and wide elasticated trousers with side pockets. The top can have long sleeves with cuffs or short sleeves; the bottoms can be full trousers with ankle cuffs or shorts with side slits. Piping can be added throughout and really brings out the charm of the design.

14. Siloé jacket by Cha Coud

Siloé is a Cha Coud design I love. I made my own version and have helped several students sew theirs. This quilted jacket is perfect for mid-season over a jumper or blouse.

It has a slightly oversized cut and sleeves long enough to turn back. The stand collar frames the neckline and front, while pockets are neatly inserted into the seam at waist level.

15. Austin dress by Coralie Bijasson

Austin is one of my favourite Coralie Bijasson patterns. I find it extremely elegant and often recommend it for special occasions such as weddings and christenings.

It makes an impact without being too complicated to sew, and it is also perfectly wearable in everyday life. Austin is midi length with a defined waist and V-neck framed by either a shirt collar or stand collar. Sew it with or without sleeves: one pattern, four possibilities, summer or winter.

16. Lotus pattern set by I Am Patterns

Another pattern on my wish list 😂, this time from Marie-Émilienne of I Am Patterns. Lotus is a versatile garment combining elegance, comfort and modernity. It can be a top, short dress, long dress or skirt, for a total of 50 versions.

The top is simple and structured with a side bust dart and round or V-neck. The dress versions have a gathered skirt with pockets and can be accessorised with a removable belt. Each version may be buttoned down the front or left plain, and can be sleeveless, short-sleeved, three-quarter sleeved or have flutter sleeves.

Two skirt versions are also included: mini and long, both gathered at the waist with a fitted waistband and front buttons. The paper version covers sizes 36 to 46; the PDF 34 to 52.

17. Romy skirt by Clématisse Pattern

Romy is the quintessential summer skirt—the one that makes you feel both beautiful and comfortable—but it works all year round. Long or short, with a jumper, shirt or camisole, it can become the key piece of your outfit.

Pair it with a short or long jacket, heels, sandals, trainers or boots, and add a pretty belt. The long version can include an optional slit for extra freedom and femininity. A design you can sew from your loveliest Remnant in just a few hours.

18. Ikabanana belt bag by Ikatee

A practical summer belt bag available in several sizes: Ikabanana by Ikatee. The pattern offers 3 sizes and 3 shape options: a basic version, a two-tone version with two front panels, and a version with front box pleats. The back can be one simple piece or include an inset zipped pocket.

It is fully lined, with a wide zipped opening and optional inner pockets, outer zipped pockets, back handle, adjustable strap and faux-leather or leather tassel.

19. Mona trousers by Atelier Jumadi

Mona trousers by Atelier Jumadi were very popular with you, and I understand why. They are the straight-leg women’s trousers every handmade wardrobe needs: a simple model that is ideal for beginners, with front slant pockets and an elasticated waist for comfort.

20. Séléna dress by Clématisse Pattern

Last but not least, because this dress is gorgeous: Séléna by Clématisse Pattern. I haven’t sewn it myself, but I have helped several people in the workshop make it as either a beach dress or an evening dress. It is a very flattering design.

Séléna is a boho-chic yet sophisticated summer dress, ideal for the beach, a summer wedding or an evening at sunset. The large V-shaped open back is extremely flattering, while the deep front neckline remains secure and can be decorated with a little tie and bead.

Its signature feature is the elasticated waist, built from a series of applied channels containing small elastics. Two waistband options are included: open at the sides for a more refined look, or closed. A soft flowing fabric best highlights the airy volume. The pattern includes long and short, above-the-knee lengths.
