I think everyone has understood my love for the Violette blouse and for the maison fauve brand in general. I love the models made by Emilie which are trendy, modern, well cut... in short, pure sewing happiness.
So when she released the tawny bob to celebrate the brand's 4th anniversary, also as a free download (thanks Emilie!) and also for a contest... I had to make my version too!

The pattern is available for download on the brand's website in sizes 54, 56, and 58.
For my part, I chose size 54 (and it fits perfectly!)
The tawny bob consists of 3 pieces to cut in the outer fabric and in the lining/inner fabric:
- a top
- a side
- a visor.
No difficulty cutting the pattern pieces, it's very clear and as usual, the seam allowances are included in the maison fauve patterns and are 1cm.

To give structure to the bob, it may be necessary to interline, it depends on the firmness of your fabric and the desired effect. For my part, I used a denim canvas that had unfortunately faded at all the folds in my storage drawer and which had joined the scrap corner during my big tidy-up in January. It was perfect for the bob. And for the lining, also from the scrap corner, a superb leftover liberty from stragier used for a purple blouse. I just interlined the liberty.

For the assembly, no difficulty encountered. The explanation guide is very clear and well detailed.
On the other hand, the proposed finishes, with the bias folded over to finish the internal seams, give the piece a little professional touch.
For my part, I chose a cream bias that matches the background of the liberty pattern.
For the external finishes, I chose to make topstitching in different colors, matching the colors of the flowers on my liberty.

It's mine of course... but I find my tawny bob classy and original. I feel there will be little brothers of this model.
And then the combo with my Violette blouse made from the same liberty... it rocks!

I feel like a winter version is being prepared... scrap corner get ready too!
