At the end of last year, I decided to make a monthly review of my Cousettes.
So, I’m starting this year with quite a few new sewing projects but also a resolution to finish the projects started in 2019 but not finished; those we call "the in progress..."
I have quite a few lying around so I got to work.
The new sewing projects
There are quite a few of them at the start of this year.
First of all, I was lucky to be able to test the new pattern from the young brand la petite frambise. I am truly honored that Karolina selected my application to test her pretty blouse named Vanille.
If you want to read the full article about this pretty romantic blouse, it's here.

You know my love for making sweatshirts and since I had enough of this wonderful white jersey with blue flowers from Lulu la luciole left to make sleeves... and "Oh wonder", I found a coupon of white jersey on sale at Stragier... enough to make a front and a back... Well, there was nothing left to do.
A blue ribbing later bought at Veritas after a long period of despair trying to find a blue ribbing matching the flowers... I went to a few stores... Here it is finished.
It's the Lana model from La Maison Victor that I modified.

Next,
- since I was on my jersey roll
- like when I went to get the blue ribbing for the sweatshirt, I fell for a floral jersey
- and since a friend asked me to make her a jersey dress with a wrap effect
I "had to" test it on myself first, ...normal, right?
So, I made the Lucette dress from the book Coudre le Stretch by Marie Poisson. This book has become my bible for sewing stretch fabrics (jersey, lycra...). This book is extremely well done, complete, pleasant to read, educational... In short, I can only recommend it.
I’m thinking of writing a full article about this book because it’s so great!

I also made the pretty Cosette blouse, with very fifties vibes, from the brand Lots of things. Since I wrote a full article about this free pattern; I invite you to check it out for all the explanations, here.

The fifth project (which was a quick sewing) was to make table napkins matching my festive sets.
My holiday project was to use up my large scraps to make pretty placemats; and since I still had some fabric left, I made napkins.
They are about 40cm by 40cm and all lined. Classy, right?

I also made a birth gift for a baby girl who is arriving soon. I can't wait to meet her. I’m not showing you the photos yet to avoid spoiling the surprise.
Finally, the last big project was my Burda style dress for the contest organized by Burda for the Creativa fair. Follow the link to the full article, here.

The "in progress" projects completed
In my article on my 2020 resolutions, you could read that I had chosen resolution number 2: "I finish projects" and you could horrify yourself to see that I had 17 projects to finish in 2020... In other words, an average of 1.5 projects to finish per month... I rolled up my sleeves and got ahead since in January I finished not one, nor two but three pending/suffering projects.
The Cédrat camisole from Maison Fauve
Cut in blue version in September 2019, it had remained in pieces on my work table until now... until I undertook the big tidying and good resolutions project for 2020.
I loved sewing my copper version for which I had written a full article on this model. Well now the blue version is ready to face the summer!
I chose to make:
- One side blue and liberty for scrap recovery (Yes!)
- One side in plain denim.

My man's shirt
His white and burgundy striped shirt was patiently waiting for its time. Well, here it is, it's finished. It is a model from the book by Ryuichiro Shimazaki.
My makeup remover wipes
It was one of my projects waiting for finishing/touch-ups and in the end, I liked sewing and using them so much that I made 7 more to last two weeks.
Even if it's not much, it makes me happy not to waste disposable cotton pads anymore and my wipes are still much classier.
Another pride, I used scraps to make them, so it will be two small scraps that I no longer have to store and keep.
Those cut in December 2019 and sewn in January 2020
And since I couldn't stop there, those made in January 2020
All that was left was to make them a small storage basket in February 😉 we'll talk about it soon!
