The switch case for my boyfriend ❤️
For Valentine's Day, I decided to sew a useful gift for my boyfriend. Indeed, he had pointed out several times that he didn't have a case to carry his switch. So, I started looking for tutorials to store this kind of console and then... disappointment, I didn't find any.
So, I made it myself 😉

I wanted a rectangular printed with a zipper pull to securely hold the console and with a flap. I didn't want a snap because if my boyfriend pressed too hard, he could damage the screen. So I created an elastic band to hold the flap in place. On the other hand, it allowed adding a bit of color and recalling the pretty colorful lining.

I first took the measurements of the console to create the pattern of rectangles (2 rectangles in the outer fabric and 2 in the lining) to which I of course added the seam allowances. Then, I created 2 rectangles whose width was divided by 2 compared to the first ones (one in outer fabric and one in lining).
I bought a 3 cm wide elastic and created an 8 cm band that I sewed into a tube to slip it through.
I also bought a 30cm non-separable zipper.
All that was left was to assemble it like a makeup/toiletry printed for which there are plenty of tutorials 😉
The fabrics come from stragier, a brown quilted velvet and a pretty cotton lining.

The case for my laptop

Like:
- I was going to a pattern making internship in February and March at IAM Patterns
- that I wanted to take my laptop with me
- that I didn't want to damage it during transport
- and I didn't want to buy a case if I can make it myself (#I_don't_buy_what_I_can_sew_myself)
Well, I made and sewed it myself; drawing on my experience with the "case de switch" 😉
I made the same model in a larger size. Since I had some fabric left, I sewed a "combo".
I made two modifications: the flap is 3/4 the width of the printed and I made an inner pocket to hold two pens and the laptop charger.
