With the arrival of new french terry fabrics and ribbing in the shop, I promised you a little article about the sweatshirt patterns available. I chose 7 very different and trendy ones, but as you can guess, there are many more ;-)
Alright, let’s get started with the top 7!
The first one I wanted to talk about is the sweet sweat by Artesane that I made myself using one of our french terry fabrics available in the shop. I also tested the pretty lurex ribbing on that occasion.
This pattern is free and comes with a YouTube tutorial that shows how to modify it; which I did to create balloon sleeves.
I won’t go into detail because I dedicate a whole article to it, here’s the link.
The second option is the sweatshirt duo offered by the IAM patterns brand, in its "I am Wild" collection. These two sweatshirts are called Zebra and Lion. They are available in sizes 36 to 46.
Zebra's distinctive feature is its butterfly sleeves that tighten at the wrists. Lion, on the other hand, is characterized by its balloon sleeves that give a nice volume on the shoulder. Moreover, both sweatshirts have an opening on the shoulder where you can place 3 snap buttons. You can get creative and use kam snaps in heart or star shapes or pretty original buttons.
Lion
Zebra
What's really great is that when you buy Lion or Zebra in PDF, you get the other one for free. So you get two sweatshirt patterns for the price of 9.9 euros. The printed version (only one model) costs 15 euros. Additionally, a tutorial is offered by the brand to guide you through making these two models.
Third suggestion, it is the sweat so classic from the brand Damn Good Caramel. The nice thing about this sweatshirt is that it is offered in two versions: the classic version and the version with geometric panels. This second version can also be great for upcycling scraps of French terry jersey, french terry ... that remain in your stock and are not always easy to recycle into other garments.
The pattern is available on the brand's website for 10 euros in PDF version and 15 euros for the printed pattern. Sizes available range from 34 to 44.
Fourth option, this is the Original from the pattern brand la Jolie Girafe. It was Sarah, one of my customers, who made me rediscover it ;-)
The original is a very unique sweatshirt due to its piped "boat" neckline. All options are possible: cotton, lurex, neon piping from the most discreet to the most original. You will find a nice selection of piping in the shop.
For this sweatshirt, it is also possible to play with color blocking by combining several colors of jersey thanks to the cutting design. You can use the pattern to make a sweatshirt, but the dress option is also available; likewise, two sleeve length versions are included in the pattern.
The pattern that sizes from S to XL is available on the brand's website for 6.5 euros, PDF only.
Fifth suggestion, for those who love ruffles and frills, this is the Dina model from Urban Fairy Patterns.
We love this ruffled detail on the chest that gives an ultra-girly effect to this very feminine sweatshirt. Elsa offers us a very wide size range as it is available from 32 to 52! This model can also be made as a t-shirt version.
The Dina pattern is available on the brand's website for 10 euros for the PDF version.
Sixth suggestion the Fenna pattern from La Maison Victor. A model I love because I find it very chic with back and front yokes. I made my version of the Fenna sweater when it was released and I still wear it with great pleasure. This model comes from the January/February 2018 magazine; it is still available in Dutch and German on the brand's website (unfortunately no longer available in French).
You will also find the PDF pattern for 5.85 euros on the brand's website and the printed pattern for 10.95 euros.
Seventh suggestion is the Courcelles sweatshirt that transforms into the Monceau Cardigan by Cozy Little World.
The brand Cozy Little World offers us a basic sweatshirt, simple to make, that can be converted into a cardigan. It's pretty nice to have these two options in the same pattern.
The sweatshirt is available in sizes 34 to 52 on the brand's website for 8 euros for the PDF version and 15.90 euros for the printed version.
Here is my best-of, I hope you enjoyed it and found something you love.
Feel free to let me know in the comments if you have other favorite sweatshirt patterns.

Bonjour bonjour,
