When Deer and Doe released this pattern I couldn't resist:
- buy it
- lengthen it to make a dress
- add a visible bias in its sleeveless version…
In short... I made beautiful sleeveless shirt dresses for summer.
The pattern is sold in printed format with its instruction guide (on recycled paper) at the price of 14 euros.
I made three dresses each time in Japanese fabrics: a red one with cranes, a white one with golden motifs, and a black one with flowers.
This model is particularly suitable for printed/variegated fabric because in my opinion, it makes it lively and especially less strict.
All these fabrics were bought in Japan at Fabric Town in Nippori, a district of Tokyo.
I wear them at work and on vacation, you could say they have a chic casual look.

For my versions, I had fun:
- add golden piping to the belt or on the button plackets
- replace the sleeves with visible contrasting or lurex bias
- sew with golden metallic thread
- play on contrasts or on the echo with the buttons
and I am sure you will find other ideas to customize your blouse or dress.

The making is easy thanks to the explanatory booklet from Deer and Doe which is really well illustrated.
It is therefore a pleasure to follow the instructions.
However, this model is rather recommended for intermediate/experienced sewers because there are several more difficult steps to complete.
The technical points are:
- the making of box pleats
- the button placket
- the meticulousness to assemble the bust darts and the skirt pleats on the same axis
- the collar assembly
The dress is offered from size 34 to 46, which corresponds to 80 to 104 cm bust circumference, 60 to 84 cm waist circumference, and 86 to 110 cm hip circumference.
Well, I still made a shirt version in a fabric bought in coupon at Veritas. I made it with piping and silver lurex bias.

And you, which one do you prefer?
