It's the anniversary of the project of my life, the anniversary of C'est du Joly!
It has now been 4 years since our shop was born, first online, and 2 years since we have had a physical store at 357 avenue de la Couronne in Ixelles (Brussels)!
We want to celebrate it with you because if C'est du Joly exists today, it's also thanks to you! That's why on May 1st, we invite you to come say hello at the shop from 1pm to 6pm for our big coupons fair and some great promotions!
Céline and I will be there and can also answer your questions about our crochet, embroidery, knitting, and of course sewing courses! Plus, the July program is online, feel free to check it out because this year we are offering intensive courses.

Two years ago, we officially opened our physical store on the weekend of May 1st and you showed up. Many brought flowers, it smelled like lily of the valley!
It marked the start of a big life change for me! I became an entrepreneur in a physical store, mostly alone (except Saturdays when Céline already came to lend a hand); and that 6 days a week.
I started sewing courses in my own workshop; I also learned to be a shopkeeper, sewing teacher, print journalist, buyer, logistics manager, social media communication manager, cleaner, development strategy manager, ... and much more 😂😂😂
Fortunately, my previous professional life had prepared me well for project management. Over time, being alone became very difficult with really heavy schedules physically, mentally, and family-wise... So I didn’t have the courage and energy to celebrate the 1-year anniversary of the physical store in style because, to be honest, I was exhausted!
This year, we’ve bounced back and above all I am well supported with Marie-Hélène and Céline by my side. We make the perfect trio, like Charlie’s Angels even if our hair doesn’t match 😊.
We have prepared some great surprises for you!
What happens on May 1st?
Céline and I will be waiting for you from 1pm to 6pm in our workshop shop located at 357 avenue de la Couronne in Ixelles, Belgium.
It’s a great opportunity for those on holiday to spend a day in Brussels and maybe combine a visit to our shop with the exhibition on Jules François Crahay at the Fashion and Lace Museum (it’s fantastic!).
We have selected many Joly coupons: in cotton poplin, viscose, double gauze, jersey, linen-viscose, embroidered viscose... these are 3m coupons at bargain prices. There are gems: Riffle paper Co, Art Gallery Fabrics, Poppy... There will also be end-of-roll fabrics offered at great prices!
All promotions on fabric by the meter and knitting will be displayed for the occasion and deducted directly at checkout.

A little reminder for those who don’t necessarily know the beginning of the story:
April 2019: I created the sewing advice blog (yes, yes the famous blog tab with currently 312 articles) to share my passion for sewing because my work in the hospital environment didn’t “fulfill” me. I needed to work with my hands and share the creative aspects of my life.
March 2020: it’s all hands on deck, covid arrives... we don’t have masks but I know how to sew, more and more people ask me... my municipality calls for citizen initiatives to supply residents... we launch the C'est du Joly site so people can easily place orders without going out.
August 2020: I order Japanese fabric (4 rolls of 6m) because Japan is also one of my passions and their finely woven poplins are perfect for masks. Plus, they are so beautiful.
November 2020: We order more Japanese fabrics and the haberdashery arrives to complete the offer
April 2021: I resign to devote myself solely to C'est du Joly and its development
May 2022: We open the physical store and start sewing courses
December 2022: start of classic embroidery courses
May 2023: Marie Hélène joins and sewing courses expand with the start of knitting courses and Céline begins crochet courses
September 2023: the sashiko offer is strengthened with a great assortment!
March 2024: Céline joins the team full-time to lighten my load (a bit 😂) and give more crochet courses.
May 2024: We celebrate 4 years of the online store and 2 years of the physical store with you!
