Bristol is a sewing pattern for a vanity that is as charming as it is functional, designed to suit all everyday uses. Available as a pouch or a small handbag, it is sewn in two sizes for each version. The pouches can even be transformed into a lunch box or cooler bag thanks to the addition of a suitable thermal lining. Its zippered flap with double sliders, fully lined interior sewn without bias tape, and small inner pocket make it a practical and attractive model. In terms of style, Bristol offers two types of handles — basic or with rings — as well as an optional 50 or 55 cm shoulder strap for shoulder or crossbody wear. The finishes are particularly neat, with seams fully enclosed between layers. An essential model, to sew for the whole family or as a very feminine small handbag.

The recommended size for a lunch box is the large vanity pouch (25 x 18 x 16 cm).

The smallest size, the mini bag, can hold a mobile phone, a coin purse, glasses, and a lipstick.

The short shoulder strap is suited for shoulder carrying, while the long strap allows for crossbody wear.

Fabric suggestions

• Outer fabric: quilted, poplin, linen, canvas, gabardine, denim, jacquard, faux leather, leather, honeycomb, jeans, oilcloth, corduroy.
• Lining: poplin, insulating material for cooler bags (for lunch box option).
• Interfacing: fusible wadding type H630 or H640 (for the outer fabric) & semi-rigid interfacing type S320 (for the lining) or mesh foam type Style-Vil (except for vanity bags because the foam is too thick for these small sizes).

• Nylon zipper by the meter & 2 sliders.
• 11 mm wide elastic: 25 cm.
• Handle option with rings: 2 2.5 cm rings.
• Shoulder strap option: 2 half-moon rings and 2 2.5 cm swivel hooks.
