Knitting: All about the swatches!
Are you discovering knitting and still puzzled when someone talks about a swatch?
Are you more experienced in this craft of thread, but not yet comfortable with this handy little square? Our workshop is made for you!
The swatch is a tool to make at the start of a knitting project, essential for the proper completion of your work and the joys it can bring once you wear it!
The course is open to complete beginners in knitting, as well as to more experienced people.
During this session we will see:
- How to understand the information related to the knitting pattern
- How to understand the information on the label of the ball of yarn you plan to knit for your project
- How to make your swatch
- How to read your swatch and extract the information it contains
- What to do if your swatch does not match the pattern’s indications
- What to do if you want to change yarn or adapt your pattern
- How to be comfortable with the rule of three in mathematics
The course includes:
- 1 x 2h30 of theory on the swatch (how to make it, how to read a yarn label, how to use your swatch…)
- Examples of different swatches
- Practical cases to understand
- Theoretical exercises to practice using the swatch as a tool
- Smiles, kindness, and respect for everyone
- Unlimited complimentary drinks
It is advised to come with something to take notes and a basic calculator. If you have any, also bring one or more swatches and/or knitting patterns to offer practical examples or ask your specific questions.
