Sewing level: easy to intermediate

easy for versions 1 and 2, intermediate for version 3 Tunisian collar

What you will learn with this pattern: attaching ribbing, attaching a pocket, assembling seams, making a button placket.

Size range: 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 years

Material suggestions:

  • Knit: cotton jersey, interlock, French Terry
  • Woven (V3): poplin, double gauze, viscose, light denim
  • Ribbing for the collar of versions 1 and 2
The Marcel neckline is quite close to the neck. Stretch is therefore necessary to allow head passage

2 options:
1- use very stretchy ribbing (recommended in the pattern instructions)
2- use the t-shirt jersey but then: widen the neckline by 1cm on each side and deepen the front by 1 to 2 cm, then measure the full neckline circumference with a flexible tape measure, then cut a strip of jersey (I hope it has some elastane) 5 to 10% shorter than the neckline length and then proceed as for the ribbing
