PDF - Digital Pattern for Smultron Dress by Paradise patterns (English)
The Smultron Dress is a full, playful gown. It is very easy to adjust to various lengths and suits a wide range of cloths.
View A is a short, half-circle, bias-cut gown with a V-shaped yoke, thin shoulder straps, and an elasticated back. You will learn how to:
- Make thin shoulder straps
- Cut a bias gown
- Sew French seams
View B is a short, half-circle, bias-cut gown with a gently curved neckline, thin shoulder straps, and ties at the back.
Besides what you will learn in View A, you will also learn:
- French seam slit (at the centre back of the gown)
You can of course mix and match by adding the back ties to View A, or the elastic back to View B. The instructions also show you how to lengthen and shorten the gown, and add optional tiers.
FABRIC RECOMMENDATIONS
This gown will look splendid in nearly any woven cloth, but my
favourites for the Smultron include: light to medium-weight linen, cotton, chambray, rayon challis and twill, taffeta, and seersucker. The bias cut looks especially fine in a gingham or checked cloth.
