These small needles are ideal for patchwork or tight fabrics. Short needles are perfect for quilting, a technique linked to patchwork, and will make tasks such as matelassing easier for you.

The needle should not be long, as the technique differs from a standard sewing stitch: the needle is pushed horizontally through the fabric with very close stitches. They are generally used on 100% cotton patchwork, but can be used on all fabrics by adjusting the needle size. They are usually used with a quilting thread (stronger than traditional thread).
