Sam is a pattern for a parka, jacket, and coat, for babies, unisex. This pattern, featuring set-in sleeves as well as a shoulder yoke on the front and back, comes in two different lengths: short or hip-length. What makes this pattern charming is its wide range of customisation options to create a unique garment. There are different collar options (round, pointed, or lined hood), openings (button placket or zipper), pockets (carpenter, rounded, or chest), as well as finishes (lined parka, finish with open seam). It is also possible to add a drawstring to the hood.

• Lightweight fusible interfacing (under collar + facing)
• Buttons or anorak snaps
• Or separating zipper * (standard lengths available in shops); if metal zipper, it can be shortened: take the maximum length, otherwise take the minimum for other zippers
• Option for hood: cord max 1.30m and 2 eyelets

Advice by age: the short style corresponds to a jacket length. It is especially recommended for little ones from 2 years old. For very young children (6 months to 18 months), favour the long version which covers the lower belly.

It is possible to use fewer buttons, especially on the short version; in this case, place the top button as on the pattern then space the others evenly.
