Macao is a pattern for a jacket or vest with a loose fit and dropped shoulders. It offers an option for long sleeves or sleeveless. A shaped and lined neckline band structures the garment. Flat-felled seams ensure strong and flawless finishes.

What you will learn with this pattern: attaching a collar band and flat-felled seams.
Fabrics & supplies
- Jacket: denim, gabardine, canvas, jacquard, medium quilted, corduroy, linen, woolen cloth.
- Vest (knit jacket): French terry, sweatshirt fabric, fleece, sherpa.
- Lightweight fusible interfacing.
- Classic polyester thread.
- Optional: denim or extra-strong thread for the top spool.
- Optional: 20 mm buttons.
Optional: if the outer fabric is very thick, it is possible to use a thinner secondary fabric for the neckline band lining, especially if you want to sew buttonholes and avoid bulk; you will then need 85 cm of this secondary fabric.
