This is a perfect pattern for sewing your first pair of trousers, or simply for seamstresses who enjoy making pieces quickly!

Its closure with a belt loop allows for very simple sewing (no zipper, no fly!) and a nice pleated look on the sides, with a high waist.

Easy to sew, closed with pretty side loops (which spare you the fly, zipper, or other button placket)

Its cut, high-waisted, is designed for a flat stomach effect and to keep a nice leg shape. The pleats on the front give it a lovely touch of modernity.

The Calder Trousers can be made in a wide range of fabrics, allowing for a completely different style. Choose a fine fabric and pair it with heels for special occasions; in a more casual fabric, it becomes your nice everyday trousers; replace the buckles with a simple knot and it will be perfect for milder days!

Available sizes range from 34 to 48 (and up to 46 for the printed patterns).

Level 1 – Beginner

You will learn to:
– Make a hem
– Attach belt loops
– Prerequisite: straight sewing

Completion time: about 3 hours

Supplies:

Recommended fabrics: soft fabric for a nice drape such as: medium-weight cotton cloth, soft gabardine, flannel, velvet, soft denim…

• A spool of matching thread
• 4 half belt buckles, or 2 leather tabs (preferably) with double buckle about twenty cm long
