REVERSIBLE UNISEX VEST
SIZES 18 MONTHS TO 12 YEARS

LEVEL: BEGINNER

The JAPI pattern (as well as a large part of the ATELIER MIMITO patterns) was designed so that your child can grow in their clothes and thus reduce excessive wardrobe changes.

This pattern, accompanied by its tutorial, allows you to create a fully reversible unisex vest with two options to choose from.

OPTION A is a traditional fully lined vest with buttonhole closure.
OPTION B is a quilted vest with rounded corners finished with bias binding and strap closure.

RECOMMENDED FABRICS

Linen, lyocell, silk muslin, cotton poplin, seersucker, flannel, denim cotton, velvet, or chambray.
Avoid fabrics that are too stiff for option A.
You will also need fleece for option B and fusible interfacing for option A if you want to add more support to the vest.

SUPPLIES

- Fabric
- Fleece (option B), fusible interfacing (option A)
- Threads
- Five buttons (option A)
- 2m bias binding (you can make it yourself)

PDF PATTERN

This pattern is available in PROJECTOR, PRINT AT HOME, and COPY SHOP formats. With Adobe Acrobat Reader, it is possible to project or print only the chosen size by selecting the corresponding “layer”. 

The PROJECTOR pattern can be opened using Adobe Acrobat. You can deselect the sizes you do not need and display only the desired size. Make sure your projector is calibrated and carefully measure the test square to ensure the pattern is at the correct scale. If you are using a dark-colored fabric, change the projector file’s color so that the pattern and text are easier to see. JAPI (Pattern and tutorial available in French and English)

The Copy Shop pattern can be printed on a single A0 sheet at a print shop. It must be printed at 100% scale. Remember to check the test square on the pattern before leaving the shop to ensure the pattern was printed at the correct scale. This pattern is compatible with the projector.

The Print At Home pattern can be printed at home at 100% scale, from any A4 or US Letter printer. It contains 20 pages that must be assembled after trimming the margins of the sheets. Tape them together following the page number order.
