The Monet jacket is ideal for all seasons and occasions. Its straight cut and round neckline give it a certain timelessness. The low armholes but with 4 sleeve versions, long or 3/4 with or without ruffle, allow you to make either a jacket to wear daily, with a more casual style, or a dressier jacket, perhaps for upcoming ceremonies.

This sewing pattern can be made in a wide range of fabrics, allowing you to give a completely different style to your Monet jacket. You can choose the shape of your sleeves but also play with materials and colours for the choice of binding and the clasp or frog fastener. Let your creativity run free!

You will learn to:

• Apply a horsehair braid binding
• Set in sleeves
• Prerequisites: straight sewing and hand sewing

Time to complete: 3 hours

Supplies:

• Fabrics: thick cotton, tweed, jacquard, sweatshirt fabric, light or heavy denim, woollen cloth, quilted fabric…
• A spool of matching thread
• Binding, it will be visible so matching or contrasting
• A matching clasp or a frog fastener in braid or duffle coat style
