The Corot skirt pattern offers you a “skater” skirt or a “circle” skirt, both flowing with ease!

Thanks to its cut, there is a lot of fabric gathered only at the bottom, so as not to weigh down the hips.

This pattern is suitable for all levels starting from beginners, and we provide tips throughout the assembly tutorial to make its creation easier.

Available in 4 versions: with two lengths and with or without a button placket.

The PDF pattern includes:

  • the sewing pattern in PDF A3, A4 (or US letter), or large size (for projection, for example)
  • step-by-step instructions to sew your skirt, with many technical diagrams to guide you
  • a playlist of videos to accompany you (cutting your fabric, overcasting, hemming, …)

This skirt pattern is based on a circle skirt model, also called a circle or skater skirt!

We play with a certain amount of fabric, all flowing, to highlight a refined pleating at the bottom, without weighing down the hips.
To keep assembly simple, the waistband is elasticated, and many tips guide you to simplify its making.

You can make the skirt in four ways: with two lengths and with or without a button placket.

Seam allowances (1cm for seams and 3cm for hems) are already included.

Level 1 – Beginner

You will learn to:

  • Make an elasticated waistband
  • Create gathers
  • Sew buttonholes

Prerequisite: straight sewing

Supplies:

  • Recommended fabrics: crepe, viscose, muslin, dotted swiss, batiste …

3 m for the long version without buttons,

2.5 m for the long version with buttons

1.5 m for the short version without buttons,

1.5 m for the short version with buttons

  • 1m of elastic (2 or 3cm wide)
  • A spool of matching thread
  • 8 buttons (15-20mm diameter)
