In wool fabric, twill, denim, velvet, gabardine… Girouette needs a fabric with some body.
If you choose a patterned fabric, don’t forget the matching at the seams 😉
One of our versions is in lightweight denim, lined with a cotton fabric,
The other is in 100% cotton short pile velvet – 240 g/m², lined with a cotton fabric.

Supplies
Fabrics / Lining: (Yardage on a 140cm width)
Size 34 to 40: 40cm
Size 42 to 48: 45cm
Haberdashery:
3 metal hooks
210cm of 25mm satin ribbon (Size 38) – Remove/add 2cm per size
Example:
Size 34 = 2x 101 cm
Size 48 = 2x 115 cm
Fabric advice / Warp and weft: Use a fabric that is not too thin, nor too soft for your Girouette vest. It needs to hold its shape on the body. You can use gabardine, twill, denim, velvet, wool fabric, fine leather…
Sewing ideas: Don’t hesitate to add a small contrasting or even floral lining 🙂
