PDF - digital pattern for unisex sweatshirt Monarque by Laeti and Léa from XS to XXXL
The Monarque sweatshirt is a unisex cut model, available from size 34 to 50 for women and 42 to 58 for men (from XS to XXXL).
The pattern is designed for a height of 175 cm: choose the size to sew based on the chest circumference and adjust the sleeve and torso length to your height (explanations given in the booklet).
At the same size, the model will be rather fitted on a man, looser on a woman.
The style of your Monarque will be totally different depending on the options you choose: the combinations of options allow you to make about a hundred versions of sweatshirts from the same pattern!
- simple collar or hood
- with or without pocket
- straight or puffed sleeve
- with or without bust yoke
- with or without bust ruffle
- with or without sleeve cuff
- with or without zipper (zippered version with hood only)
This pattern is designed to be assembled with an overlocker. Decorative stitching (pocket and hood) is done with a sewing machine. However, it is perfectly possible to sew it entirely with a sewing machine.

- Pattern sheet in 2 formats (A0 plotter format and A4 booklet). Files with layers: you can choose only the size(s) to print, with or without seam allowances. No cutting for the A4 format: the sheets join edge to edge. No overlapping of pieces.
The PDF patterns are to be printed by you.
Necessary materials
Fabric
- A stretch fabric: French Terry, sweatshirt jersey, fleece, minky, knit velvet, polar fleece.
The chosen fabric must have a minimum stretch of 20%, meaning a 10cm strip should be able to stretch to 12cm when pulled perpendicular to the grainline.
- The following pieces can be cut from rib knit fabric or the main fabric: collar, wristbands, waistband strip.
Small haberdashery

Some matching thread, jersey needles, a twin needle.
- For the hooded version and if you want to add a hood cord: 2 squares of 3 cm of fusible interfacing, 2 eyelets, 1 m to 1.20 m of cord (depending on sizes).
- For the zipped version: some fusible interfacing for the facing and the center front pieces of the bodice, pocket, and front waistband strip.
- Some bias tape for the neckline clean finish strip (see table)
- For the zipped version: a separable zipper (55 to 65 cm depending on height)
