This GRAND-MOTHER storage bag is the perfect companion for all knitting enthusiasts.
Its size (35cm x 35cm x 20cm) will allow you either to store your wool and accessories or to take your project with you wherever you go.
Equipped with 7 needle pockets, an outer zipped pocket, an inner zipped pocket, an inner patch pocket, and 4 outer patch pockets, it will help you organize your materials and your patterns. The flaps fitted with eyelets (which can be replaced by simple buttonholes) will allow you to work with several strands of wool without taking out your balls and without opening the bag.
To be sewn in any non-stretch (or very slightly stretch) fabric, I offer here a version with 2 matching cotton fabrics, but the possibilities are endless, let your creativity run free!
Accompanied by the PDF pattern in A4, US Letter, and A0 formats, the tutorial (in French and English) is detailed step by step, full of tips and illustrated with more than 100 images and photos, making it accessible to all sewers, even beginners.
Necessary supplies: main fabric, secondary fabric, lining, zippers, eyelets, straps, bias tape, piping (lengths provided in the photo gallery).
The eyelets can be replaced by simple buttonholes. The straps, bias tape, and piping can be bought ready-made or homemade (instructions provided in the tutorial).
Here are some techniques used for this model (and explained in the tutorial): zipper insertion, creation and application of bias tape, creation and application of piping.
The shapes of the pattern pieces being relatively simple, their exact dimensions are given in the tutorial for those who prefer to draw the pieces directly on the fabric rather than cutting and taping 20 sheets.
