The Galah Polo is a reimagined polo in a feminine, comfortable, and decidedly modern version. Its cut is loose without being oversized, with slightly dropped shoulders for a relaxed, contemporary look that’s easy to wear every day.
Galah follows the classic polo codes while adding a feminine touch and details that make a difference:
• two neckline options: a polo placket with or without buttons for a chic sporty look, or a more open, feminine V-neck,
• long sleeves with or without cuffs, or elbow-length sleeves ideal for mid-season,
• an optional patch pocket on the front,
• the option to play with contrasts on the collar, polo placket, or sleeve cuffs, in both color and material.
The polo placket is made in one piece, a clean, sturdy method that’s a bit different
And the big advantage of Galah? It can be sewn in woven fabric for a structured look, or in knit fabric for a more casual style, giving it true versatility depending on the season and your preferences.
By sewing Galah, you will learn to:
Sewing a polo placket
Sewing a V-neck collar
Attaching sleeve cuffs
Attaching a collar
Galah is a polo with ease. To choose the size to sew, consider your bust measurement. If you are between two sizes, choose the closest size, or even the smaller size if you prefer a less loose fit. If your hip measurement corresponds to a size larger than your bust, the garment’s ease means you likely won’t need to grade between sizes.

The Galah Polo is designed to be sewn in either woven fabric or a knit with structure, depending on the desired finish.
For a structured version, opt for a medium-weight woven fabric: lightweight denim, gabardine, thick poplin, corduroy, etc.
For a softer and more comfortable version, choose a stable knit with structure: thick jersey, milano, light sweatshirt fabric, french terry, etc. You can play with contrasts by using a second fabric for the collar, polo placket, or sleeve cuffs, whether in terms of color or material. For a 100% denim version, you can consider contrasting topstitching with a cord thread.
