Pattern for Perpète trousers (Maternity and classic)

With this one, you’re sure to take Perpète!

Once Perpète is made, you will have learned all the basics of a pair of trousers: Waistband, belt loops, fly, pockets…

Available in two versions:

A maternity version with its jersey belly panel and a classic version.

You can also switch from the maternity version to the classic version by unstitching the belly and raising the fabric panels.

Everything is well explained in our booklet 😉

These slight complexities classify this model as “advanced”.

Gabardine, twill, corduroy, denim… Ideally with a bit of stretch!

Our maternity version was sewn in a gabardine 97% cotton, 3% spandex – 370 g/ml + a cotton/elastane panel.

Our classic version was sewn in a 500-wale corduroy 97% cotton, 3% elastane – 450 g/ml, 320 g/m2

Fabrics: (Yardage on a 140cm width)

Maternity version:

Sizes 34 to 40: 130cm – Jersey: 50cm

Sizes 42 to 48: 220cm – Jersey: 50cm

Classic version:

Sizes 34 to 40: 160cm

Sizes 42 to 48: 220cm

Interfacing: 10cm

Haberdashery: 1 button of 20mm

Fabric advice / Warp and weft: Linen, light gabardine or even Orano lace (not too open) for a more fluid drape. Denim, canvas, twill or a slightly thicker gabardine for a more structured look. It’s up to you to decide the line and shape you want to give your Perpète.

Making ideas: You can coordinate the jersey with your main fabric or let your imagination run free 🙂
