With its tied straps and its different options, Emmelina is a summer model that will accompany girls all summer long.

Several variations are possible from a single pattern:

• Top or dress version
• A racerback or a straight back.
• For the dress version, simple skirt or flounced skirt.
• The tied straps will allow you to adjust them easily, whether at the back or on the shoulders. But you can sew simple straps if you prefer.

2 finishes are possible for the bodice: fully lined or with facing.

Let your imagination run free to create all the versions that will delight the one they are intended for.

Sewing level

Advanced beginner to intermediate depending on the options chosen. The technical points are making buttonholes and gathers.

Size guide

This pattern is available from 4 to 12 years old (beyond that, there is Emmelina women which is graded from size 32).

The most important measurement for this model is the bust. The height is indicative. If the values recorded between the bust and the height do not match, you can make adjustments, everything is explained in the booklet!

If you hesitate between 2 sizes for the bust measurement, choose the larger size.

Necessary materials

Fabric

For the main fabric, choose a lightweight to medium weight woven fabric : cotton, embroidered cotton, plumetis, cotton voile, double gauze, linen, crepe, seersucker, broderie anglaise, viscose, crepe, silk, tencel… Any lightweight fabric recommended for blouse or dress with a nice drape…

For the lining: a cotton or viscose voile.

Small haberdashery

• Some thread to match,  needles suited to your fabric.
• A rectangle of 6 m by 3 cm of fusible interfacing suited to your fabric* for the openings for the straps tied at the back
• Some fusible interfacing for the neckline.
