With its V-neckline and tied straps, Emmelina is a summer model that will accompany you all season long.

Several variations are possible from a single pattern:

• Top or dress version: straight top, short or long dress.
• 2 necklines to shape the bust: a modest neckline (neckline 1) or a deeper neckline (neckline 2).
• A racerback or a straight back.
• For the dress version, a simple skirt or a flounced skirt.
• The tied straps will allow you to adjust them easily, whether at the back or on the shoulders. But you can sew simple straps if you prefer.

2 finishes are possible for the bodice: fully lined or with facing.

Advanced beginner to intermediate depending on the options chosen. The technical points are making buttonholes, the V-neckline, and gathers.

Size guide

This pattern is designed for a height of 1.65 m.

It is available from size 32 to 50.

The most important measurements for this model are height and bust circumference.

If you are taller or shorter than the stated height, and the finished garment measurements do not fit you, you can make adjustments: you can shorten or lengthen the bodice or the skirt panels as explained in the guide.

If you are between two sizes, choose the larger size.

Required materials

Fabric

For the main fabric, choose a lightweight to medium weight woven fabric : cotton, embroidered cotton, plumetis, cotton voile, double gauze, linen, crepe, seersucker, broderie anglaise, viscose, crepe, silk, tencel… Any light fabric recommended for blouse or dress with a nice drape…

For the lining: a cotton or viscose voile.

Warning! The quantities given are indicative and may vary depending on the options you have chosen and your ability to arrange the pieces when cutting the fabric.

Small haberdashery

• Matching thread and needles suitable for your fabric.
• A rectangle of 6 cm by 3 cm of fusible interfacing suitable for your fabric* for the openings for the tied straps at the back
• Fusible stay tape for the neckline.

* Note: Type and thickness to choose according to your fabric. A fabric interfaced with woven fusible interfacing will keep its natural feel and drape but with more body. A fabric interfaced with non-woven fusible interfacing will have a stiffer appearance.
