Calella is a pattern for a one- or two-piece swimsuit in lycra for girls, available from 2 to 16 years old.

The neckline can be rounded at the front and scooped at the back (version A). In this case, the swimsuit is adorned with thin straps that can be crossed or not at the back or tied behind the neck.

Version B features an asymmetrical neckline.

The neckline of the bra top of the two-piece swimsuit is either slightly rounded with thin straps or asymmetrical.

The bottom of the two-piece version is either briefs or boyshorts.

Ruffles can be sewn onto the neckline, on the upper thighs, or on the bottom of the bra top and the top of the briefs/boyshorts for the two-piece.

All these options (one or two pieces, asymmetrical neckline or not, strap positioning and ruffles, briefs or boyshorts for the two-piece swimsuit…) allow for more than 200 possible versions! It’s up to you to choose and create the swimsuit of your dreams!

This pattern for a one- or two-piece swimsuit can be easily made with a sewing machine or an overlocker.

– Lining for swimsuit (for the crotch): 20 x 20 cm (can be replaced by fine light jersey)

– For the straps:
ready-made swimsuit cord: 1 / 1 / 1 / 1.05 / 1.05 / 1.10 / 1.10 / 1.10 m (half as much for the asymmetrical version)
OR
5 cm of lycra (widthwise) + 1 / 1 / 1 / 1.05 / 1.05 / 1.10 / 1.10 / 1.10 m of laminette (half as much for the asymmetrical version)

The indicated yardage of main fabric is sufficient if you want to cut the ruffles from it; otherwise, allow 15 cm widthwise of lycra.
