Lydie is an oversized kimono to tie on the side.

Sew it in its long version with a nude viscose crepe for a dressing gown version to wear daily at home.

For an airy version to wear on cool summer evenings, use linen viscose, to be paired with flared denim shorts, a classic white t-shirt, and sneakers.

Finally, for a jacket or coat style version, opt for wool satin or wool cloth to have a thicker and warmer version!

Sewing advice

It all depends on the look you want for this kimono: if you want to make a very fluid version or even a dressing gown, I recommend a viscose crepe, polyester or silk satin, or even a cotton voile.

If you want a version with a bit more body, turn to linen, linen viscose, chambray, tencel, or cotton poplin.

Finally, for a version with a lot of structure, choose a wool fabric, denim, or a gabardine.
