PDF - digital pattern for the vest / jacket Harold by Ready to sew from size 32 to 64 (fr)
When I imagined this sleeveless vest, I was thinking of Annie Hall and her inimitable style, that mix of casualness and elegance that transcends eras. The idea was to revisit the classic tailored vest, but infuse it with a freer, more relaxed spirit, while playing with materials and textures.
The front stays true to tradition with clean lines and a pretty detail of faux welt pockets. But it’s at the back that everything changes: a knit back, to be made in ribbing or even from an old sweater you love too much to part with. The result? A piece that combines structure and comfort, perfect over a loose t-shirt or a boxy shirt for a relaxed yet refined look. It’s the kind of garment you put on without thinking too much, but that instantly adds style to the outfit.
The pattern is inclusive, available from size 32 to 64 and offered in several cup sizes: Range 1 (A/B and C/D) and Range 2 (C/D and E/F).
FABRICS:
- The front of this vest lends itself to a wide range of fabrics, allowing you to shape the style you want: a Tencel twill for a fluid and modern look, wool or tartan for a touch of timeless elegance, lightweight denim for a casual look, or linen for a summery and light version. Let your creativity speak!
- For the back, you will need an old sweater with an integrated ribbed hem. No sweater to recycle? Explore good quality second-hand cashmere sweaters — those with small defects, like holes or stains, are often very affordable. As long as one side is in good condition, you will have everything you need to create a truly unique vest.
- If you choose a commercial knit, you can opt for tubular ribbing, Milano jersey, jacquard knit, or a textured knit to add more texture and character.
