Zen is a pattern for trousers or capris in jersey, available from 2 to 16 years old.

The shape is fitted at the hips, straight at the legs (bootcut style).
The waistband is wide and comfortable. It can be simple or high and folded in two for a perfect fit and support.
Two lengths are offered, long or short version. The capri version features hem bands that tighten the lower legs just below the knee.

Zen can be sewn equally well with a sewing machine or an overlocker/coverstitch machine; refer to the special supplies sheet for advice on sewing this model.

Zen is a good basic to wear daily, for sports, for a cozy day, or as pajamas. It is easy and very quick to sew.

(NOTE: Ribbing bands are knitted ribbons whose bottom edge is already “hemmed,” so they are sewn in a single layer.)

Seam allowances not included.
