PDF - Digital Pattern of the Maverick Aviator Jacket by Sewing Soon from size 34 to 50 (Fr)
Pattern for sewing aviator jacket with stand-up collar
Maverick is a slightly oversized aviator jacket with a stand-up collar, dropped shoulders, and a rather short length
❥ The fronts are adorned with large patch pockets with flaps (mainly decorative) featuring an original geometric cut. The bias-cut yoke pieces also conceal pockets sewn into the seam
❥ The back is enhanced by a large crossed pleat
❥ The softly rounded cut of Maverick is slightly fitted at the waist by a finishing band. It closes with buttons at the front.]
❥ The front yoke lines meet those of the sleeves: at the cuffs, a lovely arrangement of pleats echoes the pleating on the back.
❥ For optimal comfort, the lining of Maverick has extra ease in length. The sleeves also have extra ease.
LEVEL: Jedi master (advanced)
To sew Maverick for autumn/winter: wool fabric, corduroy…
To sew Maverick for spring/summer: gabardine, denim, jacquard, tweed
Body lining: poplin, tencel, batiste, cotton satin, flannel…
Sleeve lining : satin, silk
Choose a fabric with some stiffness, not too “soft” to ensure the pleat holds well. It is possible to add a second lining to Maverick to make a warmer garment. In this case, prefer fine fleece over wadding for a better drape.
