The Danio bed organizer is the multi-compartment storage you always keep within reach. Attached to the side of the bed, slipped under the mattress, or placed on the armrest of the sofa, it adapts to all uses and the whole family, adults and children alike.

Danio comes in two versions:
 the version with ties, to hang on the slats of the bed base, around the bed frame, or on the car headrest,
 the version with flap, to slip between the bed base and mattress or to place on the edge of a sofa.

The pockets cover all needs: a volume water bottle pocket, a large pocket for a book, e-reader, or tablet, a medium pocket, and three small formats (patch, gusseted, envelope) for the rest. The width of the compartments is adjustable thanks to the position of the final topstitching.

It’s also an excellent project to showcase your scraps by playing with color blocking!

By sewing Danio, you will learn to:

• 85 cm of fabric (140 cm wide)
Two-tone version:
• 45 cm of fabric 1 (140 cm wide)
• 45 cm of fabric 2 (140 cm wide)
All versions:
• 35 cm of mesh foam (5 mm) or batting
• 60 cm of lightweight fusible interfacing
• 150 to 400 cm of ribbon (10 mm)
• 1 snap fastener (optional)
If you want to add ric rac, you will need between 80 and 250 cm depending on the areas you want to embellish.

With flap:
Solid color version:
• 110 cm of fabric (140 cm wide)
Two-tone version:
• 65 cm of fabric 1 (140 cm wide)
• 65 cm of fabric 2 (140 cm wide)
All versions:
• 50 cm of mesh foam (5 mm) or batting
• 75 cm of lightweight fusible interfacing
• 1 snap fastener (optional)
If you want to add ric rac, you will need between 80 and 300 cm depending on the areas you want to embellish.

Danio is designed to be sewn from lightweight to medium-weight woven fabrics that offer a nice drape while maintaining structure: cotton poplin, linen, light gabardine, double gauze, cotton canvas, quilted fabric, etc.
It’s also an ideal project to enjoy fabric combinations and use up your scraps!

Danio can be sewn entirely from a single fabric, but it reveals its full potential with two or more colors. The cutting plans offer a solid color version and a two-tone version, but nothing stops you from combining three fabrics or more according to your desires. You can choose to quilt the organizer to give it more body.
