Saïga is the cozy and feminine sweater dress that will accompany you all winter. Sewn in knit for maximum comfort, you can vary the looks by playing with fabrics, going from a sportswear version in sweat to a more casual chic version in soft knit.
The pretty sleeve caps are the key element of this model. They can be pleated or gathered. The sleeves can simply end with a hem, or a long sleeve cuff that extends up the forearm.
Regarding the neckline, it is up to you to choose between the simplicity of a classic neckline, the elegance of a funnel neck, or the warmth of a turtleneck.
The Saïga cut is fitted at the waist then allows ease at the hips for feminine curves but maximum comfort.
It is also possible to use the stature lines to make a sweater instead of a dress.
By sewing Saïga, you will learn to:
Measure an elasticity rate
Sew gathers
Sew flat pleats
For this dress, mainly consider your bust measurement. If your hip measurement is more than 2 sizes above your bust measurement, it is preferable to grade between the two bust sizes towards the hips.
If you are between two sizes, choose the smaller size.

The Saïga Sweater Dress should be sewn in a medium to heavy weight stretch fabric. Ideally, it should have a minimum elasticity rate of 20%. Opt for milano, fleece, loopback sweat, French Terry, or a soft and thick knit.
For the sleeve cuffs, it may be necessary to have higher elasticity for sufficient comfort.
