The Jeanne dress is named after the first French woman lawyer to plead, Jeanne Chauvin. It also pays tribute to the Countess Du Barry, the last love of King Louis XV, known for her beauty, her white dresses, and her taste for the arts.

This is a model suitable for mid-season as well as full summer, with a cottage core and romantic spirit. It is distinguished by its wide round neckline which highlights the décolletage. It fits close to the body up to the waist marked by a fitted belt and flares out with a very gathered skirt that can be short or long. It can be sewn with a belt to tie at the back.

Its puffed sleeves and the hem of the skirt are adorned with large knife pleats which are optional but give the model its originality. It can also be sewn sleeveless.

As for the finishing, it closes with an invisible zip at the back and its bodice is fully lined. You will also learn to make set-in armholes so that no seam is visible. The other seams are flat-felled seams except for the center back seam. You can finish this last one with the zigzag stitch of your sewing machine or with an overlocker.
