PDF - Digital Pattern for the Diamant Dress and Top by Instinct Couture (size 32 to 52)
The Diamant Dress is the perfect combination of simplicity and pretty details. Depending on the fabric chosen, you can make it an everyday dress or an evening dress.
Its name comes from the geometric cuts that decorate the bodice, giving it a feminine and modern look. To add a touch of originality, you can embellish the bodice with a pretty ribbon, adding a unique touch. Additionally, the bodice is fully lined, offering neat finishes.
The back belt is smocked, allowing the dress to be cinched while ensuring optimal comfort when you wear it.
It is possible to sew the sleeveless dress or to add different sleeves: flutter sleeves to subtly dress the top of the shoulders, double butterfly sleeves for more volume, or slightly flared short sleeves. To suit all seasons and occasions, you can choose to sew a short or long dress.
By sewing Diamant, you will learn to:
Making an inlay
Sewing darts
Attaching a braid
Sewing a lined bodice with and without sleeves
Making a sleeve seam
Making smocks with an elastic shirring
Sewing gathers
For this dress, mainly consider your bust measurement. If your hip measurement is more than 2 sizes larger than your bust measurement, it is better to grade between the two sizes from the bust to the hips.
If you are between two sizes, take the larger size.

Fabric choice
The Diamond Dress is designed to be sewn in a non-stretch fabric. Choose rather fluid fabrics. Depending on the season and the look you want, you can opt for fabrics that are more or less thick: viscose twill, viscose poplin, tencel, cupro, etc.
The fabric should not deform too much, otherwise you will be hindered in making the inlays on the front.
The bodice of the dress is lined (to obtain a nice drape and beautiful finishes), so you can use either the same main fabric to line your pieces, or choose another fabric such as cotton voile or viscose voile. It is preferable that the drape of the fabric and the lining be comparable.
The front part of the bodice is decorated with a ribbon or braid, which can be more or less wide, about 5 to 15 mm.

The Diamond Dress is not suitable for beginners. It is a very good model to progress in sewing and learn new techniques, such as making an inlay or attaching a gathering elastic. The different diagrams found in the booklet as well as the video tutorial available on the YouTube channel and accessible via QR code during the sewing courses will accompany you during the making of your dress or blouse! The video lasts 2 hours, it is a real sewing course
