The Joséphine dress pays tribute to Joséphine Baker, a French by adoption, singer and dancer from the early 20th century. Engaged in the resistance and alongside Martin Luther King, she was a "free woman" whom I find very inspiring.
Joséphine is also the name of a dear friend of mine, and this pattern honors her.

The Joséphine dress is a bohemian and romantic mid-season model. It highlights the shoulders with a pretty square neckline at the front and back.

It is loose and comfortable but can also define the waist with small side ties. The button placket on the front bodice is purely decorative. It has optional pockets.
It offers two options : three-quarter sleeves (which can be lengthened to long sleeves) or straps. These straps are wide and allow wearing a bra without it showing.

You can also sew a crop top or a blouse from this pattern.
