PATTERN DESCRIPTION

Aënor is an “apron” dress or jumpsuit: it has no side seam and fastens in two stages, at the front and back, with ties to knot. The front is tied first at the back. The back panel is then folded over to fasten at the front. Its bustier-style bodice is fitted with princess seams: it is fully lined.

❥ Its double-tie system allows you to adjust the drape. Its cut was designed to be feminine while providing good bust coverage: the side crossover is low-cut (the bra may be visible, depending on its shape).

❥ Aënor comes in 3 VERSIONS:

  • VERSION A: apron dress, with a bodice attached to a gathered skirt. The gathers create a very “seventies” silhouette with substantial volume at the waist, to be managed according to the fabric chosen
  • VERSION B: apron dress, with a bodice attached to a skater skirt. The cut is more understated and more fitted, with a streamlined waist.
  • VERSION C: trouser/short apron jumpsuit, with a bodice attached to wide-leg trousers or shorts with front and back clips. Front fastening with buttons.

The VERSIONS A and B are available in MINI (above-the-knee), MIDI (mid-calf), and MAXI variations

Important, if your fabric has a  one-way directional design  (particularly patterns), you will not be able to position your pieces  “head to toe”  and you will need  more fabric than with a multidirectional fabric. The required yardage is indicated below for each  VERSION/VARIANT,  depending on the fabric and size

Note that with  fluid and/or drapey fabrics  (tencel, voile, viscose…), you will achieve a  soft drape, creating a very “second-skin” effect with  controlled volume. With  crisper and denser fabrics  (cotton poplin, chambray, broderie anglaise, linen…), the  result will be more structured, with slightly  more volume.

Recommended fabrics : tencel/lyocell, cotton voile or batiste, poplin, chambray, linen, silk, broderie anglaise, lightweight cotton sateen

VERSION A (gathered skirt) : for controlled volume, choose a lightweight, supple and/or fluid fabric (recommended maximum weight: 120g/m2)

Bodice lining : batiste, cotton voile, cotton sateen
