PDF - Digital Pattern for the Hirondelle Dress and Blouse by Instinct Couture (size 32 to 50)
The Swallow Dress is a model suitable for both mid-season and summer. It comes in several lengths to suit the season and body shape: blouse, short dress, or midi—your choice!
The cut highlights the bust through a sweetheart neckline, princess seams, and a delicately revealed back that is bra-friendly
You can also make the model your own by choosing the sleeve length that suits you: sleeveless, flutter cap sleeves, short sleeves, or tiered 3/4 sleeves accented with smocking.
The lower part of the garment features a play of flat pleats on the back and is gathered at the front. This detail makes the dress compatible with a baby bump
By sewing the Swallow, you will learn to:
Sew a lined bodice
Make gathers
Form flat pleats
Sew support seams
Make a Small Bust Adjustment (SBA) / Full Bust Adjustment (FBA)
For this dress, mainly consider your bust measurement. The cut is only fitted on the upper part of the bodice. The waist measurement is given for guidance only, as the garment is not fitted at this point.
If you are between two sizes, choose the larger size.

Recommended fabrics
The Swallow Dress is designed to be sewn in a non-stretch fabric. Depending on the season and the desired look, you can choose fabrics with varying fluidity: viscose, viscose twill, viscose poplin, cotton satin, cotton poplin, tencel, etc.
The back part of the skirt features loose flat pleats; some fabrics show the pleat more or less clearly. Choose your fabric according to the desired effect.
The bodice of the dress is lined (to achieve a nice drape and neat finishes), so you can either use the main fabric to line your pieces or opt for another fabric such as cotton voile or viscose voile. It is preferable that the drape of the fabric and lining be similar.
