Indie is a sewing pattern for a skirt-shorts and shorts in jersey, from 2 to 16 years old.

The skirt-shorts feature pockets; the skirt part is a simple panel at the front, but the back keeps the look of shorts.
You can make the shorts with or without pockets (in which case there are no side seams).

You therefore have the choice between 3 versions: shorts without pockets, shorts with pockets, and skirt-shorts (with pockets).
The cut is rather close-fitting and short. The waistband is elasticated for maximum comfort, and the cord is purely decorative (and therefore optional).

Indie is a good basic for summer, ideal for young girls always on the move and perfect for doing sports (tennis, hiking or other…) while staying neat and comfortable in their movements!

This skirt-shorts or shorts pattern is a model accessible to beginners. It is quick to sew, achievable with a sewing machine or an overlocker / coverstitch machine.

– Jersey (main fabric): 25 / 30 / 50 / 55 / 60 / 65 / 65 / 70 on width (140 cm)
If you wish to make the pockets in a contrasting fabric:
– Jersey: 25 x 60 cm (height x width)
The indicated yardage of the main jersey is sufficient if you want to cut the pockets in the same fabric.
– 2 cm wide elastic: 48 / 50 / 54 / 58 / 62 / 66 / 70 / 76 cm
– Cord (elastic or non-elastic spaghetti cord, ribbon…): 40 / 45 / 45 / 50 / 50 / 55 / 60 / 60 cm
