The Ibaïa Skirt is the skirt pattern to have in your pattern collection. This skirt features a timeless cut. Its simple line will highlight your various tops and blouses. To suit all your occasions, three lengths are offered in the pattern: mini, above the knee, and midi. To ensure the length fits everyone, I explain how to take your measurements and adjust the pattern so it falls perfectly, just as you imagined. The skirt can be worn more or less high-waisted, depending on your taste; I also explain how to adapt the pattern. Two closure options are available: an invisible zip on the side or a set of 5 loops at the back for more flair.
For the finish, choose between applying a bias tape or a facing.

By sewing Ibaïa, you will learn to:
Sew an invisible zip
 Sew loops
 Apply a folded bias tape
 Sew a facing

For this skirt, measure your waist where you want the top of the skirt to sit.

If you are between two sizes, cut between the two sizes!

  • 100 cm of fabric (at 140 cm width)

Knee:

  • 130 cm of fabric (at 140 cm width)

Midi:

  • 140 cm of fabric (at 140 cm width)

In addition to the fabric, you will need:
All versions:
– 120 cm of bias tape
– matching thread

Zipped version:
– 1 invisible zip (22 cm)

Buttoned version:
– 50 cm of fine satin cord
– 5 buttons

Recommended fabrics

The Ibaïa Skirt can be sewn in many fabrics. Favor flowing fabrics that suit the flared cut and will bring movement and lightness. Avoid cotton fabrics and fabrics that are too stiff. Depending on the season and the look you want, you can choose fabrics of varying thickness: crepe, viscose twill, viscose poplin, satin, muslin, etc.

The Ibaïa Skirt is perfectly suited for beginners! It is preferable to have sewn a few pieces before, but the various diagrams in the booklet as well as the video tutorial available on the YouTube channel and accessible via QR code during sewing will guide you through making your skirt!
