Aliyah is a fairly simple skirt to make and will have an impact depending on the fabrics used.
It features different panels, a double buttoning on the front, large pockets, a waistband at the waist, and this pattern is fully lined.
With this pattern you will learn step by step how to sew a lining, the assembly is very simple on this pattern, it’s very good for a first experience in lining assembly.

Recommended fabrics
I made my skirt in jacquard, you can use other fabrics, like woolen fabric, twill, velvet, tweed…
A main fabric and a lining with a bit of elastane will enhance comfort since it’s a skirt quite close to the body!
Fabrics
- 1.20 meters of fabric with a width of 1.40 meters (outer fabric)
- 70 centimeters of fabric with a width of 1.40 meters (lining)
- Interfacing for your waistband if you find your fabric too thin
Supplies
- 8 buttons about 2 cm in diameter OR
- 6 buttons + 2 snaps for invisibility at the waistband OR
- 6 buttons + 1 hook always for invisibility at the waistband
