The Choupisson Romper is a 2-in-1 garment that gives the illusion of a complete outfit. It’s a perfect model for little ones, no more exposed back when you carry your baby, the top and bottom are attached! 
A bodysuit and a Choupisson Romper and you're ready for the day! No need to think about matching top and bottom. 
The idea here is to choose a different fabric for the top and bottom. If you have a cutting machine or an embroidery machine, feel free to personalize the front part. 
Diaper changes are made easier with its snap system at the crotch. Of course, baby is comfortable with a gusset for the diaper.
This romper is a unisex model.

For this romper, I recommend the usual size your child wears in stores.
The size fits up to the indicated height.

Supplies

From 1 to 3 months:

  • 35 cm of fabric for the top (at 140 cm width)
  • 30 cm of fabric for the bottom (at 140 cm width)

From 3 to 9 months:

  • 40 cm of fabric for the top (at 140 cm width)
  • 40 cm of fabric for the bottom (at 140 cm width)
  •  

From 12 to 24 months:

    • 45 cm of fabric for the top (at 140 cm width)
    • 50 cm of fabric for the bottom (at 140 cm width)

For all sizes:

  • 10 to 13 buttons or snaps (Ø 10mm or smaller)
  • 30 cm of special knit fabric interfacing [option]
  • Matching thread

Recommended fabrics

The Choupisson Romper should be sewn in a stretchy fabric with some structure and suitable for babies. However, the fabric does not need to have a high elasticity rate. I recommend sewing the top and bottom of the romper in contrasting fabrics. They can be of the same material or not. I suggest using sweatshirt fabric, fleece, french terry, or textured jersey.

The Choupisson Romper is suitable for motivated beginners who take their time and follow the booklet instructions! It is preferable to have already sewn a few pieces, especially in knit fabric, but the various diagrams in the booklet as well as the video tutorial available on the YouTube channel will guide you during the making of your little one's romper!
