The Nolwenn skirt is an A-line skirt with a central box pleat and piped pockets. Thanks to its box pleat, it gives the illusion of shorts!
In its short version, sew it in a plaid or houndstooth wool fabric, to wear with loafers or derbies and a slightly loose shirt.

 For summer, you can make a version in denim or in a colored cotton gabardine for a very lively look!

For the midi version, use a wool crepe, to wear with heeled boots and a pussy-bow blouse.

Recommended fabrics

For the short version, I recommend fabrics with body to maintain the trapeze structure of the skirt; wool fabric, cotton gabardine, cotton twill, wool twill, denim, suede...

For the midi version, you can choose all the fabrics mentioned above but also fabrics with a bit more fluidity; wool crepe, viscose crepe or tencel!

Necessary supplies

You will need for making the short version of the Nolwenn skirt: 

- For sizes 34-44, 80 cm of fabric in a 1.40m width (if the fabric has no pattern direction) and 60 cm of lining.

- For sizes 46-50, 120 cm of fabric in a 1.40m width (if the fabric has a direction also for sizes 34 to 44) and 80cm of lining 

For the midi version:

- For sizes 34-44, 120 cm of fabric in a 1.40m width (if the fabric has no pattern direction) and 1m of lining.

- For sizes 46-50, 170 cm of fabric in a 1.40m width (if the fabric has a direction also for sizes 34 to 44) and 1m of lining 

For all sizes to add: 

- A matching spool of thread

- An invisible zipper of 20 or 22cm

- 20cm of fusible interfacing
