Supplies

Fabric: (Yardage for a 140cm width)

Sizes 34 to 40: 125cm
Sizes 42 to 46: 150cm

Interfacing: 50cm

Haberdashery: 6 buttons of 12mm

Fabric / Warp and weft advice: It all depends on the look you want for the gathers on your sleeve.

You can choose a rather fluid and not too thick fabric, transparent or not: Voile, cotton satin, poplin, viscose…

Or you may want a more “stiffened” effect with a more pronounced volume on the sleeves. In that case, choose a fabric with a bit more body and a bit thicker: Drill, twill (not too thick either)…

Making ideas: You can mix two fabrics. For example, voile for the sleeves, front and back, and an opaque fabric for the collar, waistband and cuffs.

Don’t hesitate to use small flat buttons, shank buttons, snaps, sequined, embossed, matte… Try mixing them, why not?! Have fun with your little buttons.
