Pattern pouch for the dress, skirt, and top set Kallima by Laeti and Léa from size 34 to 50
Kallima is a shirt dress pattern that was conceived in the mind of Nina @chutdoo and that we developed in collaboration: its collar, its V-neckline, the princess seams on the front and the fullness of the skirt give it a feminine and elegant look, reminiscent of rockabilly dresses. Depending on the fabric and options you choose, Kallima can be either modern or vintage.
Its plus? You have the option to sew only the skirt or the crop-top.
To give your dress the style that suits you, you can choose from the following finishes:
- Dress, crop-top or skirt.
- Short, midi or long skirt.
- 3 armholes, more or less cut away. Cap sleeve possible on armhole 3
- A collar stand with narrow classic (French) collar, wide classic collar or club collar.
- Skirt with or without pocket.
- A tie belt.
Sewing level
Intermediate to advanced depending on the options chosen. The technical points are the princess seam, the assembly of the collar with stand, the making of the button placket and buttonholes, the adjustment of the bodice (according to your body shape).
Size guide
This pattern is designed for a height of 1.65 m. It is available from size 34 to 50.
The most important measurements for this pattern are height and bust circumference. Kallima is fitted: if you hesitate between 2 sizes, choose the larger one.

I recommend making a toile of the bodice before starting with your pretty fabric.
Required materials
Fabric
Choose a lightweight to medium weight woven fabric (80 to 150g/m2): a cotton not too thick, viscose, tencel, linen, silk, embroidered cotton, chambray, crepe. For the bodice lining, choose a cotton or viscose voile.
Warning! The values are given as an indication and may vary depending on the options chosen and your ability to arrange the pieces at the time of cutting the fabric. To optimize, I suggest positioning the skirt panels head to tail at the time of cutting the fabric but this will be impossible if your fabric has a top/bottom direction. This must be taken into account when choosing the yardage.

Small haberdashery
- Some thread matching, needles appropriate for your fabric.
- Some fusible* suitable for your fabric (collar, button placket).
- Some fusible straight grain (skirt waist and armholes).
- Some buttons diameter 12 mm maximum (number depending on version).
- Someflat elastic 3 cm wide (skirt version):
|
34 16cm |
36 16.5cm |
38 17cm |
40 17.5cm |
42 18cm |
44 18.5cm |
46 19cm |
48 19.5cm |
50 20cm |
- Possibly some anti-fray glue for buttonholes.
* Note : Type and thickness to choose depending on your fabric. A fabric interfaced with a woven fusible will keep its "natural" feel and drape but with more body. A fabric interfaced with a non-woven fusible will have a stiffer appearance.
