The Astrild Dress is the little dress to slip on in the morning to feel beautiful and comfortable all day long. Originally designed sleeveless, a sleeve extension is now included in the pattern and offers 4 new variations (classic sleeves, with ruffle, princess seam, or bishop sleeves).
The V-necklines at the front and back, as well as the long gathers that extend over the shoulders to the back, ensure the femininity of the design.
For a fitted cut, the waist of the dress is shirred using a gathering elastic.
Sewn in a black fabric with a nice drape, it will become the perfect “little black dress.”
It can even be altered into a crop top or a blouse!

By sewing Astrild, you will learn to:

For this dress, mainly consider your bust measurement. If your hip measurement is more than 2 sizes larger than your bust, it is best to grade between the two bust sizes towards the hips.

If you are between two sizes, choose the smaller size.

The Astrild Dress can be sewn in both non-stretch fabric and stretch fabrics with body. Depending on the season and the look you want, you can choose fabrics that are more or less fluid: crepe, viscose twill, viscose poplin, broderie anglaise, cotton satin, tencel, etc.
